Cuba Libre
Don’t let the simple ingredients fool you—the Cuba Libre is more than just a Rum & Coke. Born around the turn of the 20th century during Cuba’s fight for independence (hence the name, which means “Free Cuba”), this cocktail combines light rum, cola, and a squeeze of fresh lime. That little lime twist is what sets it apart: it adds a bright, citrusy edge that balances the sweetness and gives this easygoing drink a bit of rebellious flair.
