El Presidente
Elegant, complex, and steeped in Cuban history, the El Presidente was the go-to cocktail of Havana’s golden age in the 1920s and ’30s. Made with white rum, dry vermouth, orange curaçao, and a touch of grenadine, it’s a beautifully balanced drink—lightly sweet, slightly dry, and subtly citrusy. Often overshadowed by its brasher cousins like the Daiquiri or Mojito, the El Presidente is all about suave sophistication. Think tuxedos, palm trees, and jazz in the background.
