Fog Cutter

The Fog Cutter is one of tiki’s most powerful punches — a bold mix of rum, gin, brandy, citrus, and orgeat, topped with a float of cream sherry. Complex, boozy, and layered, it’s often called the “Long Island Iced Tea of tiki,” and for good reason: one sip clears the fog, two might put you in it.

Ingredients

  • 1.5oz
    light rum
  • .5oz
    gin
  • .5oz
    brandy
  • 1oz
    lemon juice
  • .5oz
    orange juice
  • .5oz
    orgeat
  • .25oz
    cream sherry

Garnish

  • Orange slice
  • mint sprig

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients except the sherry to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain into a tiki mug filled with crushed ice.
  4. Float the cream sherry on top by pouring gently over the back of a spoon.
  5. Garnish with an orange slice and a mint sprig.
