Bloody Mary

Part hangover cure, part liquid brunch, the Bloody Mary is a cocktail that does it all. This savory, spicy classic dates back to the 1920s and combines vodka, tomato juice, lemon, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and spices for a bold, umami-packed experience. Whether you like it mild or with enough heat to wake the dead, it’s endlessly customizable and often served with an over-the-top garnish (shrimp, bacon, or a whole cheeseburger, anyone?). It’s the only cocktail that’s socially acceptable before noon—and we love it for that.

  • 4oz
    tomato juice
  • 2oz
    vodka
  • 2tsp
    horseradish
  • 2 dashes
    Tabasco sauce
  • 2 dashes
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch
    ground black pepper

Garnish

  • parsley sprig
  • green olives

Directions

  1. Rub the lemon along the lip of a pint glass.
  2. Roll outer edge of the glass in celery salt until fully coated, then fill glass with ice and set aside.
  3. Squeeze the lemon into a shaker and drop them in.
  4. Add the vodka, tomato juice, horseradish, Tabasco, Worcestershire, black pepper, paprika, plus a pinch of celery salt along with ice.
  5. Shake gently. Strain into the prepared glass.
