You do not need every glass

Glassware looks intimidating, but most home bars only need a few versatile options.

Function matters more than having the "correct" glass for every drink.

The three most useful glasses

Rocks glass. Used for spirit-forward drinks like Old Fashioneds and Negronis.

Coupe glass. Used for shaken or stirred cocktails served without ice.

Highball glass. Used for tall drinks like Gin and Tonics or Palomas.

Why glass shape matters

Glassware affects temperature, dilution, and aroma.

A coupe keeps drinks cold without ice. A highball gives room for ice and carbonation. A rocks glass keeps things simple and sturdy.

Start simple, expand later

You can make almost any cocktail with just these three.

Everything else is optional.
